Chris Lemons began composing the day the world began to fall apart...not all that he writes is apocalyptic, yet none of his sound could be considered calming. Its the end of the millennium and for Lemons the conventional symphony orchestra speaks with a range of sounds he feels compelled to enhance in order to address his own age, his own culture. Drawing on a mix of American and European idioms, with resources culled from the Classical, Avant Garde, and Rock traditions, Lemons gives voice to the range of contemporary experience from nature's severe beauty to the cacophonies of urban degradation, letting the blend and clash of worlds exist in the music and it does in his mind.                                                       -Susan Bergman
